Portland, Oregon

Just received this nice e-mail from CarolinaPetanque members Ed and Anne Shoaf.

Gary and Shirley:  We are back from our trip to Oregon and
Washington and wanted to share these photos from our visit to the Portland
Petanque Club.  President Steve Walker (shown with the two of us) was very
gracious to help us find their large terrain in Westmoreland Park.  Anne and
Pierre played Ed and Matt, winning the game 13-10.  It was a nice
introduction to Portlandia and we would encourage any Carolina Petanque
members traveling to Portland to be in touch with them and join in the
sport.

It just so happens that Shirley and I just played against a Portland team at the P'tit Louis Open in New Mexico. They were a father and son team, Pierre and Philippe Agnesse. I believe Pierre is the same person that played as Anne's partner?   Small world!  Nice guys and very good players.
