Afternoon/Evening session at Tanger Gardens

Frank, Holly, and others have started regular Monday afternoon/evening sessions beginning at 5:30 PM at Tanger Gardens.

This seems to be the direct result of several people who attended this year's Parisian Promenade commenting that work schedules and/or other commitments precluded their attendance at Wednesday morning sessions.

Whatever the genesis, it's another great opportunity for Carolina play. Everyone is invited.

July 16th Bastille Day celebration at RendezVous

Though we were not able to be there this year, it looks as though, based on pictures I was able to "borrow" from Facebook, the RendezVous celebration tournament for Bastille Day was a great success.

Isn't Ben's Napolean attire great?!

Special thanks to Dan Fitzgerald for supplying me with his tournament spreadsheets. They give a detailed picture of tournament results.

New scoreboards at Miller Park

There was a lot going on at Miller Park on Sunday 7/9. Preston brought and installed some new scoreboards of various designs that he had fabricated for the W-S terrain.

Many thanks to Preston and Rob for all the hard work digging the holes for the posts and putting up the boards.

Preston's donation of the materials and labor to fabricate the boards is very much appreciated. He's a tremendous asset to the club.

Also, there was a birthday cake recognizing some of the W-S players with July birthdays . The gang sang Happy Birthday to Rom, Rebekah, Shirley, and Gary. Thank you, everyone. And especially thanks to Jane for bringing cake and Fred for the ice cream.

Hello from France

Kirk, Bo, and Parker journeyed to France again this summer. Here are a few pics I retrieved from Bo's Facebook postings. I'm sure this is on the dream list of quite a few USA petanque players--a trip to the birthplace of the game and participation in Le Mondial la Marseillaise a Petanque--the worlds largest petanque tournament.
