Last Greensboro play of 2021?

Howdy you Texans,

We had a great turnout for the last play of 2021 in Greensboro. As well as some of our regular members, several new players showed up.

The weather was warm - not your 86*, Gary! - but still good enough that most players stayed until late afternoon. There were three sets of games going and some great plays.

No goodies from Mel, but June made a tasty chocolate caramel cracker creation which is aptly named Christmas Crack, for something you cannot stop eating! I brought some baklava courtesy of the Herb Society of America. John says we are turning into an eating club as well as a petanque club.
Merry Christmas to all and looking forward to petanquing new year!

Miller Park on Sunday 12/12/2021

Had a great afternoon at Miller Park Sunday. The colder weather is weeding out the faint of heart and our diehard players are bubbling to the top. Jane brought two of her grandkids out... Jack and Ainsley. Both were dead on pointing. She denied schooling them beforehand but it all sounded suspect the way they were playing. Hope you are enjoying the holidays in Texas.

Happy to see that Tess and Preston are back from a little break and keeping things going in Winston-Salem while Shirley and I are visiting in Texas.

Greensboro on a cold day

Thursday was a cold day in Greensboro - didn't get above 42 while we were playing, but a few hardy souls show. Here are a few photos of the day.

 It's 86 degrees here in Texas today.😀

December 2, 2021--Greensboro Group

 12/3/2021

Hello from sunny North Carolina!

We had a good-sized group at Bicentennial Park yesterday.  Mel brought goodies again and John baked a baguette. As Mel said, they were in a one-up competition - to the benefit of all those present.
There was some fierce playing, with Kathleen and June playing competitively and taking away each other's points. Lots of measuring, lots of great shots, and a great day all around.

Thanks for the update!
