The weather on Saturday afternoon at Nevin Park in Charlotte (6000 Statesville Rd) was near perfect for petanque; yet, perhaps due to the beginning of the holiday season, we only had six regular players.

The good news is that we also had four walk-up players. Thomas, Candy, Stephane, and Mica joined group play for the first time. They seemed to enjoy the games and promised to come back in the future.

Amelia Island Open Winners

 

Thanks to Amelia Island Open organizers for providing the list of winners and a special congratulations for repeat Champions Dylan Rocher (France) & Gian Carlo Lanfranco (Peru).

 

Also, Carolina Petanque had four members who placed "in the money" at Amelia. Marc Quilici/Juan Hernandez were 2nd Place in Group C, Michel Baudouin/Nick Verdile were 1st Place in Group D,

We played in Greensboro yesterday after having driven back from Florida on Monday and taking a day off on Tuesday.
