Last Play Before Amelia Island

We had a good crowd again on Sunday at Miller Park in Winston-Salem.  We tried, as much as possible, to let those teams planning to go to the Petanque America Open next weekend play as partners with their teammates.

As I sit here posting this blog, it is now Tuesday (Election Night!) and I'm in our rented condo at the Ocean Park complex in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island in the state of Florida.  Danny & Sue (from Crossnore, NC) joined Shirley and myself on Monday for a week long getaway.  We went for seafood on Monday evening, toured the town on Tuesday, and managed to get in about three hours of petanque on Tuesday afternoon at the new Center Park terrain.  It's a beautiful location under huge, old (live oak?) trees.  Room for about eight lanes of play.  The Amelia club is really blessed with great places to play.

I'll keep you posted as the week goes on.
