Friday afternoon, at Fernandina Beach, on Amelia Island, in Florida, saw 32 doubles teams participate in what has become an annual tradition--the Compact Tournament for Women of Petanque.
It's a fun event with a format that allows an entire tournament to take place in the very short time frame of just one afternoon. Three qualifying rounds were played to either 13 points, or 30 minutes, or 7 ends--whichever came first.
After the three qualifying rounds, the top 8 teams were seeded into the quarterfinals of Single Elimination.
Congratulations to the winning team of Stacy Linh and Chrissy Lion, and to the runners-up team of Lori Beth Creasy and Menzind Churchman!
