9/1/2026 Indoor (soft-boules) play returns to Kernersville

 

Kernersville Recreation and Event Center at 1020 Shields Rd, on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 4:30 PM.

Open to all. Free equipment provided. 

8/30/2026 Last Sunday play at Miller Park before Petanque Ice Cream Social

 

As expected, we had a great turnout in Winston-Salem as players tuned up for the 9/5/2026 tournament.

The tournament will be an open format for teams of either two or three players. There will be a few other deviations. The 24 teams will play three qualifying games timed at 60 minutes with no "plus one" end.

Scoring and pairing for the qualifying games will use Swiss Hotel system with wins-delta-quotient rankings and random pairings.

It's to be held as an "Introduction to Tournament Play" event where some of the players have: either never, or very infrequently, played in a tournament before. 

It should be lots of fun with lunch from the grill and free ice cream as two of the advertised attractions.

Linda & Janet

We were very happy to host Linda Benton and Janet Torrico at our Lexington home for dominoes and petanque. Janet had visited frequently, but it was the first time Linda had been able to come. 

Linda, Janet, and Shirley are playing as a triples team on September 19th in Athens, Georgia. Classic City Petanque Club is hosting the National Women's Triples.

Good luck to our Carolina Petanque ladies!
