If you didn't attend the Mid-America Select Triples in Morganton over the weekend, you missed a great time. Even though our attendance was not what we had hoped for, with the fact that it was triples, a two-day commitment, the same weekend as the U.S. Petanque Open in New York City, and the same weekend as the U.S. National Mixed Doubles in Fresno all contributing factors-- the eleven teams who did play all seemed to have a wonderful time.

Kirk did a great job as tournament director, and both he and Bill Cooke were first-time umpires as well, both having recently passed FPUSA certification testing for Club Umpires. I actually got to play this time around.
