The pace quickened on Friday as teams began to arrive throughout the day from the many states represented. In addition to the Carolinas. players from New York, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, and California were registered to make up the weekend's total of 32 doubles teams.
The sixteen available courts at Morganton were all used for the first time.
