The Morganton venue of Carolina Petanque has regular play on Thursday mornings, so we returned from Lincolnton to attend. Shirley and Donnie were registered as a team for the weekend and several other paired teams were there as well.
The last two pictures were taken at the Speedway Grill and Cafe in the small town of Rutherford College (about 1200 people). We stopped for lunch on the way back to Lincolnton and, as chance would have it, happened to run into Tracie Jeffries and her daughter, Charity.
No, despite the picture, we didn't "literally" run into Tracie. She had a hiking accident about ten days earlier and had to withdraw from the weekend's tournament after surgery where a pin was used to repair the damage.
