Diehards
We arrived at Miller Park on Wednesday morning (4/19/2017) to find an unusual amount of activity going on, even though there was a slight drizzle and gloomy, gray skies. As it turned out, the North Carolina Senior Games of Winston-Salem crowd were holding their bocce tournament that day.

One of Carolina Petanque's own, Fred Marchant, is a talented bocce player in addition to being a very good petanque player. As a matter of fact, Fred was on the NC State Championship Bocce Team in 2016. He managed to snag a medal (2nd place!) for Wednesday's play, as well. Congratulations, Fred!

Meanwhile, we had a few brave souls turn out for petanque in the drizzle. The new terrains drain REALLY well. As many of you are aware, drainage was the major issue we had with the existing Miller Park petanque terrain prior to the construction of the two new terrains (each terrain large enough to accommodate four lanes).

Job well done, Winston-Salem Parks and Recreation!
