Spring is in the air, but  indoor petanque is ongoing--at least for a little while longer.

Hanes Hosiery Community Center at 1:00 PM each Thursday.

Mardi Gras Indoor

 

After celebrating Mardi Gras weekend on Sunday outdoors at Miller Park in Winston-Salem, Shirley continued the theme by decking the indoor participants in Kernersville with beads on the actual date of Mardi Gras--3/4/2025--Fat Tuesday!

Dinner at Sixty Six Grill and Taphouse afterwards.

Shirley and I had originally planned to revisit Thibodaux in Louisiana for their Mardi Gras tournament--going so far as having already submitted our entry fee. Unfortunately, my ongoing health issues dictated otherwise. (Thanks to Guy Diebold for refunding our money!)

At least Shirley was able to breakout and distribute some of the beads etc. that we got on last year's visit, and we were happy to be with our Carolina friends at Miller Park. 

 

2/27 Indoor play at Hanes Hosiery Community Center (Winston-Salem)

 

Thursdays at 1:30. I couldn't resist joining in even though I was VERY poor at playing from my wheelchair! Hoping it's not a long-term situation.

Indoor play in Kernersville

 

We're still in the process of establishing indoor play (with soft boules) at 1020 Shields Rd, Kernersville. The Kernersville Recreation and Events Center is allowing Carolina Petanque to host play each Tuesday at 1:00 PM.
