2016 Parisian Promenade

On Sunday, June 5, 2016, several of Carolina Petanque's members set up an area in Greensboro's Tanger Bicentennial Gardens to play and instruct visitors in the game. The Parisian Promenade is an annual event sponsored by Grrensboro Beautiful to "recreate... the sights, scenes, sounds and smells of a spring afternoon in Paris - all in our own Bicentennial Garden. Sidewalk artists, live music, children's activities, family games, sidewalk cafes and more are featured - all within the colorful backdrop of the garden in bloom."

2016 marked the ninth year of participation for Carolina Petanque. We always have a lot of fun showing kids and adults alike how to play. This year's event drew slightly smaller crowds to our area than some past years due to the threat of thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon. Still, we managed to have three courts of activity throughout most of the afternoon and were pleased that the storms held off and did not disturb play.
