Nelson and Khalid came over in the morning and we played doubles to practice for the upcoming Lexington Barbecue Festival tournament, where Khalid will be playing with Teng and Nelson will be playing with Rebekah, and for the Petanque America tournament in Florida in November where Nelson and Khalid will actually be partners. After five games, Shirley and I managed to squeak out the win: 3 games to 2.
In the afternoon, our friends Earl and Pam Lovell arrived with their travel trailer RV to get situated for the Lexington tournament. Earl will be playing with his son, Trevor, who'll be driving down from Virginia. The Lovells' dogs were getting used to the back porch deck and peering into the kitchen when Shirley snapped the final picture.
