Shirley and I were in Avery County visiting our friends Danny & Sue Daniels over the weekend. There was a parade on Saturday celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 100th county in North Carolina-- Avery County.
One of the honored parade participants turned out to be CarolinaPetanque's Walt Elder's grandmother, Mary Elder, who is 100 yrs old!
