Casual Dinner at the Pub

Carolina Petanque members Fred, Jane, Shirley, and Gary made the drive east to the campus of Duke University at the invitation of Emma Howell. Ph.D. to give an introductory session on how to play petanque to some of the young Blue Devil students.

It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed interacting with the students and helping them to get at least a basic idea of how much fun petanque can be.

We also enjoyed dinner at a local pub, James Joyce Irish Pub.

Thank you again for sharing your time and passion with us! Please pass our gratitude on to the rest of your group. I’ve included a few photos here. Hoping we can do it again soon!

Best,

Sunday play at Miller Park

George and Laura

We always try to make it over to Miller Park on Sunday for 1:00 PM play when we're in Carolina. After all, it was the birthplace of Carolina Petanque back in 2007.

We started with nine founding members and Carolina Petanque now boasts 150+ members.

George and Laura played with our group for the first time on Sunday. We hope to see a lot of them now that they've made contact.

Join us each Sunday at 2500 Queen Street, Winston-Salem, NC.

Tina's Travels

We've missed our friend Tina Currie of late, but wish her well on her journeys in France. Here are some pics she sent of the Texas group she's traveling with. Some of the faces are very familiar to Shirley and me as we've played at the French Legation in Austin, Texas, (first photo above) scores of times.

Our best to all.

Tanger Gardens, Greensboro

Jurgen

Beth

Pictures from Wednesday morning play.

John announced that he plans to pursue having some shirts printed that will be specific to the Greensboro location. The group there is rightly proud of their venue and want to encourage players from other areas to be aware of the opportunity to see Tanger Gardens (1105 Hobbs Rd) and play with the people there.

Welcome to new members Jurgen and Beth! We hope to see a lot of them, but they travel back and forth to Germany some, so it may be sporadic when they're available for Greensboro play.
