Shoafs in Lexington-- Part two

After morning play at our house, the six of us went to Cook's Barbeque for lunch and had some famous "Lexington Style." Delicious!

Then, on to Terry and Sue's new terrain for afternoon play. Terry's still putting on the finishing touches, but, boy, things are looking great. He has just finished hanging his new lights-- still has to take the scaffolding down-- and we're looking forward to trying them out on Monday night.

Ed and Anne are going to build their own court before too long and are getting ideas on landscaping, construction, court surfaces, etc. by playing at various locations. We'll look forward to playing at their house, maybe in the new year?

Shoafs in Lexington

Dr. Ed Shoaf and his wife, Anne, are the newest members of CarolinaPetanque. Welcome, you two!

Ed and Anne made the trip over from Charlotte to join us for Saturday play at our Lexington terrain. Terry and Sue also came over. The six of us had a cool start for morning play, but I lit all the heaters and started a fire in the chimenea. After a while, the sun kicked in and made things much more comfortable.

Halloween Eve

Halloween Eve 2011 at Miller Park in Winston-Salem, NC. We were glad to have numerous new players. Charlie and Dustin, who have played with us a time or two before, showed up planning to play bocce, but joined us for petanque instead. Dustin's parents, Kelly and Renon, were visiting him from Washington state, so they played as well.

Fred spotted a lone bocce player across the way practicing his game and went over to say hello. Turns out they knew each other, so Mark joined our group as well.

We also had Danny & Sue down from the NC mountains and Augustin, Susanne, and Marc from Hickory.

Bob M., Shirley, and myself rounded out the group until Tom showed up a little later on his way back from a visit with Wesley and new fiancee, Marcie, in Asheville.

Nice crowd and great weather.
