The pictures above are from play at the Inn at Bingham School near Mebane, N.C., on May 26. They were taken of the group of players from Saxapahaw who play there on a routine basis.  Give Francois a call if you'd like to join them sometime.

The group of photos above was of a bankers meeting that was held at the Inn on June 4th.  Guess they took a little time off from counting their money to play!

The final pictures in the series were from a group that gathered for panella and petanque on June 9th.  Looks like we missed a real treat!

Once again our friend and CarolinaPetanque member, Francois Deprez, sends us a few pictures of recent events happening at the inn.  The four pictures above are from a May 24th graduation celebration for Elon college.  

Parisian Promenade-- 2013

The 2013 celebration of French culture at the Tanger Bicentennial Gardens in Greensboro, NC, took place yesterday afternoon.  As we have been doing for several years now, we made the trip over from Lexington to set up a couple of temporary courts on one of the park's gravel maintenance roads.  Attending from our CarolinaPetanque group of members (and potential members) were Danny, Sue D., Terry, Sue W., Bob, Joe, Catherine, Shirley, myself, and our friend Sandy Boone who was visiting us from Austin, Texas.

We met a lot of nice people and exposed many adults and children to our game-- most of whom had never played before.  Sue Daniels and Sue Wien deserve a special nod for manning the children's court (along with Shirley) for most of the afternoon.  That left Danny, Terry, Bob, Joe, and myself to play and instruct on the other court.  Sandy helped out on both courts.

We tried to answer all of the questions put to us and convince people that the best way to learn was to throw a few boules-- with very good success, too!  There were several players throughout the course of the afternoon who showed promise and expressed interest in playing with our group, either in Winston-Salem or, possibly, in Greensboro if we can work something out with the parks and recreation people.
