8/3/2025 Miller Park

One of our largest turnouts in a while (30?) last Sunday in Winston-Salem was able to enjoy a break from the recent heat. Temps hit only about 75F and cloud-cover made playing conditions near perfect. There was even a very slight mist of rain for a brief period==think Preston's misting apparatus on a huge scale.

Max, Tracie, Kathy, Juan, and Marc made rare appearances--traveling considerable distance to do so-and were a very welcome addition to our regular W-S crowd.

We even had 11 people at Mario's pizza for post-play dinner.

Mother Nature really helps bring out the crowd!

7/27 Miller Park

Several July birthdays were recognized on Sunday at Miller Park. Rom, Eva, Shirley, and I all have birthdays within a couple weeks of each other.

This year it was even more special as Myles, our grandson, was here for his birthday too.

We were so happy to have Myles, our son-in-law Rob, our daughter Lynda, and our granddaughter Maeve. visiting for a few days. Unfortunately our oldest granddaughter Marin couldn't make the trip this time and we all missed her.

7/23 Tanger Gardens

Shirley and I picked our grandson, Myles Acuna, up at the airport in Charlotte after Sundays petanque at Miller Park in Winston-Salem.  He flew in from Austin, Texas, for his first airline trip alone.

So, of course, we took him to play petanque in Greensboro on Wednesday.

Preston is now using a sign-up board to see how many players in the next round. Good idea!

Jeff & Sarah celebrate one-year anniversary of meeting each other at Miller Park petanque.

Michel

While we were back in Winston-Salem on Sunday to celebrate Shirley turning 39 (actually it was the second time she reached 39!), our friends to the west in Asheville had a Bastille Day event at Michel's RendezVous terrain.
