The mini-tournament teams on Friday

And the winners are...

In addition to the many, many fine women players who played in Saturday/Sunday Petanque Amelia Open, there was also a mini-tournament held on Friday afternoon in which 22 teams played a compact format of five ends per game for qualifying rounds followed by single elimination games for the top eight qualifiers.

Due to a scheduling mistake, Shirley did not get to play, so she took quite a few pictures of the ladies at work.

Congratulations to all who participated, and a special recognition to Bo Edwards who finished second with her teammate Angela Gleason from the Maine Boules Club.

Champions were Letitia Weibel and Christine (from Belgium?), Great job and a really hard-fought finals. The medalists are pictured above: (L to R) Angie, Bo, Jim Weinsier (president of the Amelia Island Boules Club), Christine, and Letitia.
