Bo's Day in the Sun

Justin Bo Johns from Zanesfield, Ohio, happened to be in North Carolina over the weekend visiting some friends in Laurel Springs. That's in the mountains just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Since it was only about an hour and a half drive down to Winston-Salem on Sunday, and he was driving a Dodge Viper, he decided to make the trip.

We first met Bo a couple of years ago at the Petanque America Open in Amelia Island, Florida.  He and his friend Josh were one of the first teams we had to play in Saturday's qualifying rounds.  Any of you who were there will no doubt remember the two young Amish (not really, but they sure looked the part!) lads.

Sunday's play was HOT for April with highs in the 80s and a scorching sun.  I think Bo was a little wiped out by the end of the day, but he played very well-- heat or no heat.  Hope we can see him again soon!

Wonderful to welcome a fellow petanque player from afar to your courts! And, it seems you have a very nice terrain, too.
