We drove up from NC to Zanesfield, Ohio, on Wedneday, arriving arounf 6:00 PM. Shirley and I shared the driving and were accompanied by Gail and Jane. The trip up was uneventful--always more iffy when towing a travel trailer. We were glad to see Donnie from Dayton was already there with his RV motorhome.
Then on Thursday, Shannon and Bo began some of the last-minute prep work that happens--much of it behind the scenes--when hosting a petanque tournament. There Memorial Day Tournaments were planned for a three-day event: Singles on Friday, Doubles on Saturday, and "Twist" Doubles on Sunday. The Sunday event stipulates that you are not allowed to play with the same partner as on Saturday.
We did mange to sneak in a little play in the afternoon as people began to arrive.
