Raleigh in the central triangle part of the state and Asheville in the western mountains represent the two extremes of our "local" travel to play petanque. Raleigh is about 110 miles to the east of our home in Lexington, and Asheville is about 150 miles to the west.
As you might imagine, we don't get to either of these extremes very often, so it's a real treat when a special event of some sort lures us their way.
Friday evening found us in Asheville at RendezVous, the French restaurant w/petanque terrain that is to be the site of the Mid-America Select Triples on Sunday, August 29.
A little fun play and a lot of saying hello to some of the "tribe," made for a great way to kickoff the weekend,
--Gary
