Lincolnton on a Tuesday afternoon

Takeout dining on the carport in Lincolnton

Marc had some circumstances that caused him to have to cancel Tuesday evening play in Hickory, which we had planned to attend, so we decided spur-of-the-moment to see if we could get a few players to join us at our Lincolnton getaway.

We ended up with ten players--just two people short of capacity for the Lincolnton terrain. We were very happy that Mike Owens, from Louisiana but staying in Lincolnton for a few weeks, was there to help us get ready by assisting with the mowing and a few other things that needed doing before company came.

Al and Heidi, from Athens, GA, but also having a home in Hickory they're renovating, played in Lincolnton for their first time. It's always a pleasure to see them.

Danny and Sue drove down the mountains from Crossnore, and Terry and Sue drove west fromLexington.

And, last but not least, Tom Cearley came for what was our first time to see him in AGES! We were so glad to see him and hear that everything's well with him and Carol. We did miss her, though, as she was tied up with something at their house (Lincolnton). Next time for sure?!

Several of the gang hung around for fried seafood from one of our favorite takeout seafood places Lincolnton Seafood .
