Qualifying Day at Petanque Amelia-- November 9, 2019

Carolina Petanque members had varying results in Saturday's five qualifying rounds. The last picture above shows where they placed after results were tabulated. Special congratulations go to Abderrahim el Hadi (aka: Abdul), Marc Quilici, and Juan Hernandez who finished their day with 5-0 won-lost records and find themselves situated in the "Champions: A Bracket" going into Sunday play.

Also worthy of note, Rebekah Ricardo and Shirley Jones went 3-2 with a good enough point differential (overall points scored, minus points allowed) to land in the "Champions: B Bracket" for Sunday play.

The rest of our playing members did not fare quite as well on Saturday, but we're sure they will be competitive in "Consolation Brackets" on Sunday.

Shirley informs me that Michel and Ray, whose names I could not find in the published list of qualifier results, will also start Sunday in a "Consolation Bracket." I'm guessing they might have been slotted into a spot where a team registered but later cancelled and did not attend, and that the paperwork went uncorrected. No matter, they will be representing Carolina Petanque on Sunday just the same.

I'll publish pictures and results from Sunday play as soon as they become available.
