The 2023 version of the Amelia Island Open petanque tournament began on Friday afternoon with a "Compact" tournament for women.
There were 32 teams participating. Each of the four qualifying games was limited to six ends of play, or 30 minutes, or 13 points--whichever came first.
After qualifying, using the SWISS HOTEL scoring system (wins, head-to-head if only two teams tied, point differential, point quotient), the top eight teams proceeded to the quarterfinals for elimination play.

4. Wien/Currie (Carolina Petanque!)
5. Jones/Sweeney (Carolina Petanque!)
6. Woodard/Keeton
7. Morris/O'Roark

Final results after elimination play:
Gold: Picotte/Cote
Silver: Linh/Lion
Bronze: Wien/Currie
4th: Keating/Creasy
