Sunday is elimination play

Sunday play began with 32 of the 179 teams assigned to the top tier, Group A, tournament bracket based upon Saturday's results. These 32 teams began the day with a chance to emerge as 2023 overall champions of the Amelia Island Open.

However, the first round of Sunday play was not an elimination round, but one additional seeding round. So, the sixteen winners of Group A first-round match-ups remained as the only sixteen teams who still had a chance at the overall championship; whereas, the sixteen first round Group A match-up losers fell down one bracket to Group AA.

The other 147 teams who qualified on Saturday were assigned to second tier Group B, third tier Group C, et cetera, down to Group E.

After the first round of play, sub-groups like BB, CC, et cetera were seeded with first-round losing teams.

It is expected that Amelia Island Open will publish the winners in all the groups and sub-groups within the next few days, but, for now, the overall winners of Amelia Island Open for 2023 were repeats from 2022.

Congratulations Dylan Rocher (France) and Gian Carlo Lanfranco (Peru). They defeated Damien Hureau (France) / France Morin (Switzerland) in a well-played 13-11 finals.
