Egypt

While there's no petanque being played, at least not in these pictures, one of  Carolina Petanque's newest members, Benjamin Loera, is vacationing in Egypt!

Hope he has a wonderful time.

Ilham and the girls

We were happy to have a visitor from Algeria join us for 3rd Saturday play at Nevin Park in Charlotte. Said, whose daughter Ilham is a Charlotte doctor, said he had played before, but not in a long while.

We hope to see more of him and his family while he's in the states.

Mid-week journey continued (8/18/2022)

After having played in Greensboro on Wednesday morning, and Asheville on Wednesday afternoon, Shirley, Jane, and I made the 45 minute drive from Lincolnton to Morganton to play on Thursday morning.

They say you can't get too much of a good thing. Right?

Asheville in the afternoon (8/17/2022)

Driving back to Lincolnton in the evening

We arrived at RendeVous in Asheville a little after 4:30 PM, having made the drive from morning play in Greensboro.

We don't normally schedule play in two different venues in the same day, but some visitors to the US from Australia had contacted Shirley and advised that they planned to be at the Asheville location, so we didn't want to miss meeting them.

Colin and wife Helen were in the states for a visit with their daughter, Sarah, who lives in Greenville, SC.

We were very happy to make their acquaintance, and we hope our paths cross again someday.

GSO--8/17/2022 morning play at Tanger Gardens

We began the day by playing at Tanger Gardens beginning at 9:00 AM. After another good crowd and a full morning of play, Shirley and I, along with our friend Jane, left Greensboro for a drive to Asheville for afternoon play. It's about a 2.5 hour drive, so we had quite a busy day.
