The Petanque Ice Cream Social was a huge success by all accounts. Twenty-four (24) teams participated.
They played three qualifying rounds after which they were seeded into three brackets: Eight teams each in Concours, Concours B, and Consolante. First, Second, and Third in each bracket received medals created by Mike Livings. In addition, handmade ice cream bowls by Asheville potter Rodney Plachy were presented to all medalists in Concours.
There were cash prizes in Concours as well. First place was $160 and second place was $60.
Chris Paccione manned the grill and served chicken, salmon, and steak to diners.
Rom & Barb donated the ice cream for over 60 people!
