Marc from Petanqu America, Gail Dickerson, and Shirley attended the kickoff for the 2026 edition of Piedmont Plus Senior Games in Winston-Salem.
Petanque will be included on a local basis again this year on May 17.

Senior Games Kickoff (01/23/26)
Fun with Bob and Kaye
Shirley, along with Janet Torrico and Linda Benton, made the trip east to Hertford, NC, to assist Bob Robertson and Kaye Taliana in promoting petanque, indoor (soft) and outdoor, to the local community.
They reside within a resort community called Albemarle Plantation which has multiple sites for development of play inside and outside. However, this particular trip was to a senior community center nearby which also presents an opportunity for both indoor and outdoor play.
Best wishes to Bob and Kaye in their role as coordinators for this area. They did a wonderful job of getting petanque established in Raleigh and we expect that they will be equally successful in Hertford. By the way, Shirley informs that they also plan to build a court on their own land.
