There were 12 of us yesterday at the Davie County Community Park in Mocksville, NC, for the first-time organized introduction to petanque. They have two looooooong bocce courts which could easily be divided into four lanes for petanque.
Preston Myers lives in Mocksville, but he's our Carolina Petanque Winston-Salem venue Area Coordinator and hosts weekly play there twice a week at Miller Park.
It's uncertain whether regular play might be feasible in Mocksville, but we'll continue to explore the idea and evaluate interest.
Meanwhile...
Another group of Carolina Petanque members is exploring the possibility of expanding play in Boone, NC. The venue is Peabodys Wine and Beer. Kirk suggests that the owner may be open to expanding his terrain to four or more courts. The owner plans to visit Michel's RendezVous for ideas about what is possible.
