The Carolina Petanque Raleigh venue held the "City of Oaks" open at Pullen Park on Saturday, April 25. Carolina members attending were Tom Bridges, Miriam Bridges, Jesse Israel, Holly Israel, Jeff Fabrizio, Preston Myers, Jason Alicea, Stephan Karlsson, Harry Moczek, Monica Moczek, Hannah Fennell, David Freedland, with Shirley and myself as supporters.
Jesse and Holly did a great job of organizing and running the tournament, and they even cooked chicken, burgers, and hotdogs on the grill for lunch!
The abbreviated tournament format schedule included three one hour rounds before lunch followed by two elimination rounds in the afternoon. The field of twelve teams was thus reduced to three teams who were undefeated in the elimination rounds.
Those three teams were ranked according to performance as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
