Saturday's play was halted after three rounds due to rains throughout the morning session, somewhat heavy at times. The Tournament Director, Guy Diebold, decided to hold one additional qualifying round on Sunday morning, similar to the system used at the Petanque Amelia Open with which many of you are familiar.
The 4 winning teams in the first round of Concours Group A remained in contention for the overall championship while the 4 losing teams were relegated to Group aa. The same method was employed in Concours Group B with first game losers moving to Group bb.
