Today's Greensboro play (with walk-ups!)

 

Thank you so much for inviting us to join you for a game today. We had such a great time learning Pentanque- it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.  We are still talking about how fun it was to stumble into this group and what a super time we had.

Here are the pictures we took today and the picture of my brother in laws custom set of boules.

We are looking forward to bringing this back to the rest of our family and friends.

Canada-bound visitors

 

We were glad that J-C (Jean-Claude) Lesperance and Patricia Berube stopped by for an overnight stay on their way from a winter in Florida as they make their way north to their home in Canada. We had a fun visit and even managed to play a little petanque.

3/20/22 at Miller Park

 

Sorry, but somehow we managed to collect only two pictures from Sunday's play even though we had a good crowd and great fun. Preston advised that Tess was not feeling well, so we missed her and wish her a speedy recovery.

3rd Saturday Charlotte-- New Regional Umpire

 

Though the wind was a little strong, the sun was shining and the temperatures reached the high 70s on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Charlotte, NC, at Nevin Park. 

We had a great turnout; I counted 19 before the day was over. We were particularly happy to have Michel, Bill, Dana, Dick, Dawn, Martin, Uijin, Bo, and Parker make the trip down from the high country (Asheville/Spruce Pine) to join Abdallah, Denyse, Mouhrite, Mike Owens, Eric, Kevin, Guillaume, Alexander, Shirley, and me for Nevin Park play.

Bill Cooke passed his umpire test for promotion to FPUSA Mid-America Regional umpire. CONGRATULATIONS, BILL!!!

 

Lincolnton (3/18/22)-- New Club Umpire

 

We had a great Friday afternoon of play on our Lincolnton, NC, terrain. Mike Owens was still visiting from Louisiana; Tracie Jeffries, Mike Vail, Shirley, and I made five.

The big news of the day was that Tracie passed her Club Umpire exam before we began the day's play. We are extremely happy to have her as our first female Mid-America umpire.

Greensboro on St. Patrick's Day 2022

 

We had several good games on Thursday, but the one the ladies seem to remember best is pictured in the first spot above- 13 to 1 in favor of the ladies over Gary, John, and Mike. Congratulations to Jane, Tina, and Shirley!

Tuesday play on our home court (3/15/2022)

 

We were happy to have Nelson and Rebekah join us and our friend Mike Owens from Louisiana for an afternoon of play on our Lexington, NC, terrain.

Chilly Sunday due to wind, but we had a great afternoon of play anyway. We were glad to have our friend Mike Owens visiting from Louisiana.
