Walk-ups try their hand

We had our usual good turnout of players for 3rd Saturday play at Nevin Park (6000 Statesville Rd) in Charlotte, NC. It was as hot as you'd expect in NC in mid-July, but, with the help of a few scattered umbrellas, we managed to persevere.

The courts at Nevin Park are still not great, but the excess top-dressing (gravel "fines" or "screenings") that we continue to rake away when we play there are gradually being reduced to a more playable level. Anyway, our Charlotte group does not seem to mind too much-- plenty of fun to be had!
