8/9/13 --Tanger Gardens

Tanger Gardens (1105 Hobbs Rd, Greensboro) is cool, calm, and beautiful on Wednesday mornings at 9:30. If you haven't played there recently, we'd love to have you back! Of course, new players are always welcome. The club provides all necessary playing equipment.

Yesterday--before the storm!

We had four good rounds of games at Miller Park on Sunday before the skies opened. As usual, we waited just a few minutes too late to suspend play and most of us were soaked to the skin.

Nevertheless, six of us gathered for what has become somewhat of a post-play tradition-- this time, Sunday evening dinner was at the K&W cafeteria, one of the favorites of our dinner group.

We missed a couple of Wednesdays of Greensboro play while visiting in Texas, but were happy to be back for play with the GSO crowd.

Good to see Preston in GSO too.

Rare monday morning play in Lexington

Rick, Maggie, Jane, Shirley, and I got in a couple of games on Monday morning--we all spent Sunday night playing Pegs and Jokers at our Lexington home--before they had to depart to go their separate ways.

Cool!

July 30, 2023--Miller Park

Shirley and I were back at Miller Park in Winston-Salem for the first time in a couple of weeks due to our late July vacation in Texas.

Cupcakes (gluten free) for Rom's recent birthday, a brief visit from Preston's son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids, and a post-play dinner at a (relatively) new W-S Cajun-food restaurant were some of the highlights.

July 29, 2023--Lexington at night

Shirley on our home court Saturday night. Rick and Maggie were visiting with us from South Carolina, so the lights were turned on for a game or two before bedtime.

Afternoon/Evening session at Tanger Gardens

Frank, Holly, and others have started regular Monday afternoon/evening sessions beginning at 5:30 PM at Tanger Gardens.

This seems to be the direct result of several people who attended this year's Parisian Promenade commenting that work schedules and/or other commitments precluded their attendance at Wednesday morning sessions.

Whatever the genesis, it's another great opportunity for Carolina play. Everyone is invited.
