Yesterday in W-S

Three lanes of play indoors at Hanes Hosiery Community Center in Winston-Salem.

Future home of the 2025 Carolina Open?

Carolina Petanque Vice-President, John Wilson, made arrangements with the Kernersville Parks administration to have an afternoon of trial play on their parking lot near the end of Beeson Road.

The club is in the process of searching for a suitable location since the Morganton terrain is still unplayable due to flood damage from hurricane Helene.

The Kernersville terrain looks very promising as it would require very little, if any, modification. I'm still not able to play myself, but I watched a couple of hours of good play on what seemed a very appropriate, yet challenging, surface.

I understand from John & Shirley that the club will be making a decision soon-- most likely in the next week or so.

No petanque play to attend on Tuesday, but Shirley got me out of the house for a little while anyway. Lunch in Lexington.

 Miller Park--Winston-Salem

Tanger  Gardens--Greensboro

Shirley and I attended Greensboro play for their first round of play on Sunday and then drove over to Winston-Salem for the balance of the afternoon.

It was great seeing a lot of the people for my first time in six or seven weeks.
