Saturday was busy. Shirley, Jane, and Maggie went to downtown Lincolnton in the morning where the annual Apple Festival was being held.

Then the five of us made a 45 minute drive east to Nevin Park in Charlotte for 1:00 PM petanque. We were happy to be joined by a new player who found out about us through the Alliance Francaise of Charlotte. Pablo Garlo came over from Concord. He was on the winning team in both of the two games he played--not bad for a new player!

Then we loaded up again and drove 90 minutes west to the Oyster Roast festival in downtown Morganton. Jeff Stark had invited us and we enjoyed food, beverages and a live band.

Friday in Lincolnton

 

Rick, Maggie, Jane, Shirley, and I spent a lazy Friday in Lincolnton. We were uptown for lunch and browsing. We got in a game of petanque between afternoon rain showers. 

We brought in seafood dinners for supper; we played cards and watched MLB game in the evening.
