 A few of our members played at Miller Park on Thursday (3/28) and then had dinner at a Tex-Mex BBQ located at 907 S. Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC.

They then threw some more boules on a bocce/petanque court located at the back of the facility.

Maybe a new place for small gatherings in the future?

 Only ten of us (eleven if you count ROSCOE), but good games yesterday in Morganton.

Happy to play with a new addition to the group, Robin Coulter, from Newton, NC. Welcome Robin!

The indoor season in Morganton wrapped up yesterday. Glad that Shirley and I were able to make it.

Two great games with Max, Jeff, Ed, and Steve. 

The six of us played upstairs in the gymnasium. It was the first time for Shirley and me to see the gym area. Very nice! You certainly don't have to worry about hitting the ceiling no matter how high you may lob.

I'm happy to report that the level of play for the indoor game really improved over this, our first season.

We will definitely plan to be back. Probably in October?

Miller Park (3/24/2024)

 

We had a really nice time playing on Sunday at the Miller Park courts.

Several of our newer players seem to making quick progress and enjoying the game. 

The MeetUp group has brought a few people around. Thanks to Rom and Preston for sponsoring and arranging the effort.

Greensboro (3/20/2024)

We made it back over to Greensboro for the first time in a while to play with our friends at the Tanger Gardens venue. 

They continue to have good attendance at each of their three weekly sessions. Many thanks to John, Mary Jo, Frank, Holly, and the rest of the GSO regulars for making petanque a success at that location.


 

3/19/2024--Playing indoors again

 

The usual gang turned out again at Hanes Hosiery Community Center in Winston-Salem for Tuesday afternoon play.

The indoor season is expected to continue through April, so come on out and play!

Wednesday Tanger Gardens (Greensboro) play

 

Shirley and I have not been able to make it over to GSO (1105 Hobbs Rd) for awhile now, but we're happy to see the game continuing to flourish without us.

We had a great group of 16 players today. We are loving the time change - it allowed us to play until late afternoon.

Eleven for indoor (soft boules) play

 

We hope to grow our crowds for indoor play over the next six weeks or so, at which time outdoor play may takeover--depending upon demand.
