Trying the indoor-soft-boule version!

Shirley and I, from Lexington, and Cherri, from Winston-Salem, made the trip west to Morganton on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, to join in on indoor play with soft boules at the Collett Street Recreation Center.

It really was a lot of fun. Of course, it's certainly different from "real" petanque, but, with boules that weigh 680 grams, it's closer than you might think. And you can't beat the "weather" indoors in the winter!

We had lunch at Pat's Snack Bar and enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the friends. Give it a try if you're in the area.

The current schedule for indoor play is supposed to be for play on the 2nd, 3rd. and 4th Wednesday of each month, but the group decided to also play on the 5th Wednesday for November.

I'd advise anyone interested in giving it a try to call first to make sure they're playing. Jeff Stark can be reached at 828-443-2314.
