Kirk, Shirley, Steve (Gantt), and I traveled to Morganton, NC, to meet with local officials about the possibility of creating a petanque terrain. Kirk's uncle, Ronnie Thompson is a council member and hopes to be able to help Carolina Petanque bring our game to Morganton. Catawba Meadows Park 
is  the venue being considered. Morganton would like to initiate a new sport that might potentially attract tourism for tournaments and festivals and petanque is being considered.

Let's all hope we can work something out, because it's a beautiful venue and has plenty of room for a large terrain. We may be looking at something like 16 (!) courts if plans go through.
