Sunny day
Small crowd of seven for Sunday petanque at Miller Park. Beautiful, sunny day. OK. It WAS a little on the cool side at around 35F. Still, we played for about 4 1/2 hours! Gail, Joseph, Fred, Nelson, Rebekah, Shirley, and I had a wonderful time!

Wednesday
Ten of us were in Lincolnton on Wednesday for petanque. We welcomed a new friend of Khalid to the group. Othman has only been in this country for a short while, having come here from his native Morroco. While he said that he had been only an occasional player back home, it was soon evident that he had developed some skills in shooting. When he and I played as a team, I played the pointer's role.
We were also happy to have members Tom, Carol, Philippe, and Jean rejoin the Lincolnton play after recently spending a considerable amount of time in France.
Rounding out the crowd were Danny, Sue, Shirley and myself. We were able to keep two courts bust all day long-- from about 10:15 AM until 5:30 PM. Good times.

Petanque America Open -- Styles
All photos by Hank Rouland
Our friend, Hank Rouland, from Boules de Leon in St. Augustine, Florida, spent much of his time in Amelia Island moving around the terrain snapping pictures of the various pointing and shooting styles on display. Nice job, Hank!
