Justin Bo Johns, his wife Mollie, and all the other friends and associates of the Zanesfield Petanque Club of Zanesfirld, Ohio, went all out to make visiting players from Michigan and North Carolina welcome at their home courts this past weekend.
From the Carolinas we had Kirk/Bo Edwards (with Parker), Bob Moyer, Cruz/Kristi Bunn (with Mary Hazel, Lenni, and Georgie), and Shirley/Gary Jones. CarolinaPetanque member Don E. Baker from Dayton, Ohio, also attended along with his friend and neighbor, Gladys.
Shirley and I arrived in Zanesfield around 3:00 PM on Friday. Bo and Mollie (with Lucy and Ruby) hosted us at their home and supplied us with a home-cooked dinner of spaghetti, salad, and dessert. Joining us for the dinner meal were Michigan players Howard and Jane along with Zanesfield players Mike, Joan, Myra, Josh, Bill, and Tom.
After dinner we moved to the courts, which are within walking distance of Bo and Mollie's home, for Friday afternoon's play. We played until about midnight before Shirley and I finally made the trip to our home for the weekend-- the beautiful Myeerah's Inn Bed and Breakfast owned by Zanesfield players Mike and Joan.
