Yesterday in Winston-Salem

Great afternoon of play at Miller Park.

Nice to see Bekah and Nelson for the first time in a while. Also, Stuart dropped by on one of his occasional visits with the group. And Abdallah came from Charlotte. Jim, from our Greensboro crowd, came over for his first time playing at Miller Park (and played great!).

Laju, back now from her trip to India, joined as a Carolina Petanque member. She was probably the most consistent pointer of the afternoon, and we're lucky to have her.

Preston had been sick for more than a week, but he felt well enough to come out and play, though his voice was so weak and raspy that he could not have felt top-notch.

Back from Texas

 

Shirley and I returned to play in Carolina on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, after spending a good portion of February visiting our family in Spicewood, Texas.

Large crowds of capacity or near-capacity for our 4 lanes at Tanger Gardens in GSO are still the rule. 

Thanks John, Mary Jo, Frank, and Holly for keeping things going and acting as play facilitators.
