March 25, 2021, at Tanger Gardens in Greensboro

Our first play in Greensboro for the year was yesterday. Tanger Gardens is certainly one of our most beautiful places to play-- especially in the Spring. It was really great to be there and say hello to Ryan, the Park Manager. We're looking forward to regular play there on Thursdays at 1:00 PM.

March 24, 2021, Springtime at the Wiens

Two of our best friends, Terry & Sue Wien, were in town for a few days. Though they now reside in Lakeland, FL, they still own an Air B&B on High Rock Lake in Lexington (see their listing under "Sites We Like").

We got together for a couple of games and Shirley and Sue won both games. There, I've admitted it, so maybe you won't have to hear it from them.

March 22, 2021, another work day in Morganton

Marc and Juan met Shirley and me at Catawba River Sport Complex in Morganton, NC, for a serious day of working on the courts. Marc was generous enough to have rented a piece of equipment with a bucket scoop and was able to move more gravel around and off the terrains than Shirley and I would have been able to move in a week of raking and shoveling. In addition, we added a dusting of coarser gravel to one lane of the first terrain as a trial.

We hope to play in Morganton again on Saturday, the  27th, and we will get some feedback from a few of the players.

Trial play for one game at the end of the work day

March 21, 2020, Miller Park in W-S

Fourteen players in Winston-Salem on Sunday.

March 20, 2021, Saturday play at Nevin Park

Rick and Maggie up from South Carolina

We got to play at Nevin Park for the first time in 2021 on the third Saturday of March. We were so happy to be back. With our hopes up that Covid is on the wane, and considering that Shirley and I have both had two rounds of the Pfizer vaccine, we hope to play in Charlotte regularly for the balance of the year.

Seventeen players.

March 14, 2021, Sunday before St. Paddy's

Shirley wore a little o' the green and decorated our picnic table with a St. Patrick's Day theme at Miller Park for regular Sunday play.
