Special Saturday play in Charlotte
Though our normal Nevin Park play is on the third Saturday of each month, we joined Frank, Denyse, Gerard, Monique, Jerome, and Jeanne for a special second Saturday play just to get in a little play prior to some of our group heading up to Ohio to play with the Zanesfield crowd over Memorial Day weekend.
Thursday afternoon in Morganton
Shirley and I again drove up to Morganton to play with Kirk, Bo, Steve, and "Hoss." The latter being a new player from the area. He seemed to have an aptitude and enjoy the game. I know we enjoyed having him! We're experimanting with a regular play schedule for Morganton. Tentatively, we're going to shoot for Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
At present, our play schedule for regular club play looks as though it's going to be:
Wednesday mornings in Winston-Salem (9:30 AM at Miller Park)
Thursday afternnons in Morganton (Noon at Catawba Meadows)
Friday afternoons in Asheville
Saturday mornings in Morganton (9:30 AM at Catawba Meadows)
Third Saturday of each month (9:30 AM summer starts) in Charlotte
Sunday afternoons in Winston-Salem (1:00 PM at Miller Park)
Occasional play in various other places throughout the Carolinas.
Wednesday May 10th
Regular Wednesday morning play at Miller Park in Winston-Salem. Shirley got caught up in playing and only took one picture! But we had a lot of fun.
We're enjoying our new terrains! (5/7/17)
Everyone continues to appreciate the new terrains at Miller Park. The drainage is excellent, the surface is firm and has just enough slopes and breaks to provide a challenge, and the proximity to the treeline is much appreciated for the shade it offers on hot Carolina days. We hope to have benches, picnic tables, and eventually a restroom to replace the current porta-potti in the not-too-distant future.

We are beginning to start the process of cultivating regular play in Morganton, NC. Steve and Jane Gantt are the club's representatives in the Morganton area. The terrains are slowly taking shape; there is still work to be done in order to make them more playable, but some progress has been made. The main unresolved playability issue is that the terrian is still too soft for enjoyable play.
Once there are two terrains (enough room for eight lanes/courts) in good enough condition, we hope to have our first mini-tournament. Current thoughts are maybe around the middle of June if everything goes well.
Miller Park again for Sunday play
